SwiveLimb Frequently Asked Questions
I have an older SwiveLimb that does not have a platform. Can I buy just the platform?
Unfortunately, we cant sell platforms for the old model SwiveLimbs that were not manufactured by us. Our insurance company will not allow it.
Can I buy parts from Quill for my older SwiveLimb?
We can only sell parts for the stands that we manufactured.
Is the seat height adjustable?
No, it is set at a comfortable height for the average man. It is lower than many other treestands because in most other stands they make the seat higher so it takes less motion to stand up. With the SwiveLimb you don't have to stand up to shoot a gun or bow in any direction (even behind the tree) so we decided to set it at a more comfortable height.
Is it easy to hang in a tree?
Yes, an experienced user can easily hang it in under a minute.
How long does the plastic last?
It isn't actually plastic. It is ZyTel® a DuPont® resin material. It is extremely strong and weather resistant. It will probably still be in use when a metal stand of the same age is severely rust damaged. Without neglect it should last a lifetime.
Is it strong?
Yes, after independent laboratory testing it was given a safe weight rating for users up to 300# by the T.M.A. (www.tmastands.com).
Is it hard to carry?
No. It has a handle molded into the ZyTel® under the arm. The attached ratchet strap can be used as a shoulder strap. The platform ratchet strap can be used on the bottom of the platform to carry it on your back, backpack-style.
Is it as complicated as it looks?
Not at all. The whole unit is leveled with 1 pin. The platform support brace is adjusted with 1 pin. The seat-to-tree distance is adjusted with 1 T-bolt and doesn't have to be adjusted every time. The seat left-to-right adjustment doesn't need to be adjusted on the S1. That's it.
Is it comfortable?
Yes. I don't use a seat pad in mine and I usually sit for 4 hours + before standing up to stretch. The contoured shape of the seat gives even support. This and the lower back support make it surprisingly comfortable.
